Our workforce has entered a period of profound change. The onset of new technologies is disrupting industries and the pace of change within business is accelerating, leading to shorter tenures for top executives. We’re also living and working longer. And in the age of digital transformation, the way people want to work is changing. Flexibility is in demand.
This means how organisations and companies need to access talent is also changing — and Gig Executive is playing a pivotal role in enabling organisations to retain their competitive edge. Launched in July, Gig Executive was born out of the demand for an alternative future workforce of adaptable executive leaders and the need to solve talent gaps at pace. It builds on a decade of experience in sourcing and connecting leaders to high-impact roles.
Gig Executive is an expansion of Fisher Leadership, the leading executive search firm across the social impact sectors in Australia and New Zealand. Founder and director Jo Fisher is continuing her specialisation in board and C-Suite search and advisory. For the past 20 years, Fisher has addressed disruption in the industry head-on, sharpening her focus on bringing diversity to the boardroom.
“We were one of the first firms to insist on gender diversity in our selection processes and have since impacted leadership in cultural and linguistic diversity significantly,” says Fisher. “I remain committed to advocating for greater diversity of thought on boards to actualise social and commercial value amidst accelerated change.”
Fisher Leadership has also added a new strategic advisory practice, CogNative, to help clients respond to the changing world of work.
“We could see clients needed solutions that were not off-the-shelf,” says new managing director of all three businesses Michelle Loader. “We realised these unbundled specifications for the future looked different, and we wanted to deliver solutions in a more agile, less traditional way.”
Gig Executive works at board and executive levels, with a pool of high-calibre talent to smooth leadership transitions, cover extended leave, sit in for a secondment or bring new skills to a critical project.
“We’re connecting organisations to the benefits of the gig economy at an executive level. We make it easy for people to connect to talent for today’s needs,” explains Loader.
‘We’re connecting organisations to the benefits of the gig economy’ says Michelle Loader, MD.
