Anna Hughes, the new General Manager South Australia Financing Authority

Executive leader of South Australia’s key financing and insurance body

Anna Hughes has recently been appointed to the position of General Manager of the South Australia Financing Authority (SAFA), due to commence in May 2020. Anna will lead SAFA in delivering the State’s debt, liquidity and financial assets, captive insurance and fleet operation services.

As a member of the executive leadership team, Anna will play an active role in the department’s corporate decision making, planning and policy formulation.

Anna brings an extensive career in various roles with the Australian Government including the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Parliament House and the Environment Department. Anna has built her career post government at Standard & Poor’s (S&P) from being a sovereign public finance ratings analyst in Melbourne to most recently a Managing Director in Singapore, for the Asia-Pacific region.
