A Winning Walk

Last Friday Jo Fisher took part with 5 friends in the 30 km Melbourne Coastrek walk to raise funds for The Fred Hollows Foundation. Inspired by her personal experience with the Foundation’s positive goals and excellent leadership team, the event also provided Jo with a great reason to get two teams of 4 friends together, get fit and enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery between Blairgowrie, Portsea and Point Nepean. While winning no prizes for speed, the teams’ fundraising efforts in the months leading up to the walk attracted sponsorship support of over $11,600 to contribute to the total of $1,682,740 raised by the event.

Brilliantly organised by Wild Woman on Top, the annual Melbourne Coastrek is a great experience, a real win-win for anyone who loves to walk in the wild with friends and aspires to make a truly positive contribution to the lives of people in need.
