Emily Maguire is a new Board Member for Respect Victoria at the Department of Health and Human services (VIC)

Emily Maguire is a new Board Member for Respect Victoria at the Department of Health and Human Services (VIC). Emily has over 12 years’ experience in not-for-profit and government sectors and in consultancy. She is currently the CEO of Domestic Violence Resource Centre (DVRCV), a statewide agency that works to prevent and respond to family violence and violence against women. At DVRCV, Emily’s focus is supporting effective NFP governance; advocacy; change management; strategic leadership; risk management, compliance and legal processes; and media engagement. Prior to this she was the Policy and Project Manager, Children and Young People at Our Watch (Jun 2014-Aug 2015). She has operated in senior policy and project management roles across various organisations including, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (a range of positions from 2006-10); CASA House (two capacities in 2010 and 2011); Office of Women’s Policy at the Department of Human Services (short tenure in 2011); VicHealth (2011-13); and the Australian Human Rights Commission (Oct 2013–May 2014). She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Double major in Gender, Sexuality and Diversity and Political Science), La Trobe University.
