Emily Wooden is the new Chief Operating Officer at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons

Emily Wooden is the new Chief Operating Officer at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. A career working for a wide range of industries including the superannuation, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, education and health sectors has provided Emily with great insights into operational and strategic challenges facing all types of organisations. Previously Emily completed a contract role as an Advisor and Mentor for Women on Boards where she supported, advised and mentored Melbourne participants of the Women on Boards 2018 Next Generation of Female Corporate Leaders Development Program.

Before this Emily spent three years with Catholic Super, originally commencing as Executive Officer – Business Transformation before progressing to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).  In her capacity as COO Emily focused on improving the long term financial sustainability of the fund by increasing membership, accessing new markets outside the Catholic community and countering the ageing fund demographics.  New member growth of 30% was achieved in addition to the first non-Catholic fund joining the trust providing access to new markets. As the Executive Officer in Business Transformation Emily transformed the fund into a master trust allowing access from both Catholic and non-Catholic markets, developed access to additional income streams by the provision of new banking services and developed a specific youth strategy.

Prior to this Emily held the role of General Manager, Member Services and Operations with the RACGP.  Reporting to the CEO, Emily was responsible for improving the service experience of Members and Trainees while also building member value.  In this position Emily was also responsible for the leadership and advocacy of the RACGP Foundation Research Program.
