Janine Wilson is the new Chief Executive Officer at Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN)

Janine will lead a dedicated and highly skilled team to adapt and respond to the changing landscape in the provision of health care.

Janine started her career in health in the mid-1990’s as a physiotherapist, based in Melbourne and London, and went on to gain experience in executive, operational, data security, marketing strategy and general management roles, in the health sector over the next 25 years. Janine has a strong commitment to the improvement of processes and systems, and is passionate about driving a high-performance culture, embedding good governance practices, and contributing to organisational development at the strategic level.

In her previous role as Head of Registries, National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) at Telstra Health, Janine led the establishment of the operation of the Register that provides eligible Australians with invitations and reminders to screen, also providing information and access to healthcare providers. Janine also held responsibility for stakeholder engagement, the development of internal governance frameworks and Commonwealth compliance.

Previously, Janine was the Executive Director, Donor Services for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service (now called “Lifeblood”), for a period of six years and had held a number of other roles with ARCBS before that, going back to 2005. In these roles, she managed approximately 2,000 staff in more than 100 blood donor centres across Australia, as well as leading the organisation’s marketing function. She was the Executive Sponsor for the implementation of the organisation’s first enterprise-wide cloud-based solution, a Donor Relationship Management system which led to improved engagement with the organisation’s blood donors and reduced waste in the supply chain.

Prior to joining Lifeblood, she worked at the New York Blood Center in the area of Business Strategy and Development, as well as with McKinsey & Company as an Associate/Engagement Manager. Additionally, Janine was appointed as a Director of the University of New England Foundation Ltd in 2011, holding this role until 2017.
