Liam Sloan is the new Pro Vice-Chancellor (VET) at Federation University

Liam Sloan has been appointed as the new Pro Vice-Chancellor (Vocational Education and Training) and Chief Executive Officer, FedUni TAFE at Federation University.  This key role will see Liam providing strategic leadership to realise the University’s growth agenda for vocational education and training, providing the very best outcomes for students, employers and the community.

With over ten years’ senior executive experience in VET in the UK and New Zealand, Liam has managed a number of complex, multi-site and diverse institutions, developing strategic partnerships and alliances.  Most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, he has worked with the Minister of Education and the Ministerial departments to support major reform of the tertiary education sector across New Zealand. 

A UK citizen, Liam is the former Vice Principal, Curriculum and Learners at the City of Bristol College, where he delivered curriculum strategy and innovation, developing and implementing workplace learning performance panel reviews.  His earlier roles include Assistant Principal, Students at New College Nottingham and head of department and program management positions at Barnsley College.
