Michelle Cafini is the successful candidate for the Head of Junior School role at Presbyterian Ladies’ College Melbourne

Over the breadth of her career Michelle has gained extensive leadership experience in educational environments, particularly in the Junior School sphere.  Michelle has been responsible for the development of comprehensive curriculum materials and scope and sequence documentation with teaching and learning teams from kinder years through to early secondary.  Michelle completed a doctorate in gifted education and has worked closely with learning support teams across many school settings to provide guidance and develop curriculum for students with diverse needs.  Michelle is trained to run all IB PYP workshops in the Asia-Pacific Regional and has led workshops for teachers, leadership teams and Boards across Australia and Asia.  Michelle is currently lecturing at the University of Melbourne for the Master of International Education course, with a focus on teaching units addressing inquiry-based, concept-driven curriculum and the International Baccalaureate programmes.

Before this Michelle was the Head of College (PYP and MYP) for Rivercrest Christian College, part of Crest Education.  The scope of Michelle’s responsibilities included operations management, financial management, curriculum development, staff leadership, MYP coordination and community relations.  Also with Crest Education, Michelle previously held four years as Head of Junior School at Hillcrest Christian College.  Here Michelle was responsible for the administration of the Junior School, including curriculum and pastoral care.  During this appointment Michelle was a member of the College Executive and Management teams.

Earlier with Newhaven College, Michelle was the Head of Junior School, Prep to Year 6 for four years.  During 2005 Michelle was Vice Principal and IB PYP Coordinator at EtonHouse International Primary School and Pre-School based in Singapore.
