Sheriden Vella has been appointed as Head of Campus – Glen Waverley at Wesley College

Sheriden has built her career in the educational space from her initial teaching positions to her current role as Deputy Head of Campus at Wesley College, Glen Waverley. Sheriden has approached all her roles with a focus on building relationships with students, staff and parents in order to deliver exceptional outcomes. Since 2015 Sheriden held the role of Deputy Head of the Glen Waverley Campus where she is a member of the Campus Executive in addition to retaining a teaching position. Sheriden is responsible for the leadership and management of staff, campus events and campus operations, incorporating engagement with non-teaching staff in addition to OHS and emergency management responsibilities. Sheriden has acted as Head of Campus on occasion when required. In addition to her primary responsibilities Sheriden has been involved in AEAS Agent workshops and student exhibitions in international locations such as China, Hong Kong and Malaysia. She has also provided support to the construction and completion of Learning in Residence and The Drennen Centre. Sheriden previously held the role of Head of Middle School with Wesley where she led and managed over 85 staff and 500 students across Years 5 – 9.

Before joining Wesley, Sheriden spent twelve years with Ivanhoe Grammar School, with her final position with the school being that of Head of House. Sheriden led one of the four Houses in the Senior Years and was responsible for managing seven Form Tutors. The role of Head of House encompassed the day to day pastoral care and academic program delivery for all students in the house. Earlier roles at Ivanhoe for Sheriden included Head of Drama where she developed the Year 9 and 10 drama curriculum in conjunction with the Performing Arts team. Sheriden was also responsible for introducing VCE Drama at Ivanhoe in 2004. During 2004 and 2005 Sheriden held the position of Deputy Head of Group (Middle Years) where she supported the Head of Group care for approximately 200 students across Year 7 and Year 8. Ivanhoe Grammar had only enrolled girls in Year 7 for the first time in 2003 and Sheriden was specifically appointed to care for the girls in the Middle years.
