Associate Professor Matthew Leach is Deputy Director (Education), Professor of Rural Health at Southern Cross University

Fisher Leadership has been delighted to continue our partnership with Southern Cross University, leading the appointments of the leadership team of the newly-established National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM).  With a strong evidence-based scientific and multidisciplinary research focus, the Centre will play a leading role in postgraduate education and research in naturopathic medicine, while enhancing the future growth and development of the profession.

Associate Professor Matthew Leach joins the Southern Cross University National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine from the University of South Australia, where he was a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Rural Health. Matthew has built an international reputation in health services research, where he has established a program of research referred to as BEACON (Building Excellence and Advancing understanding of Consumer Outcomes and Needs). He is a genuinely multidisciplinary academic, having collaborated with more than 27 distinct disciplines, spanning 48 agencies and academic institutions, across 10 countries. In addition, he has published over 124 refereed journal articles, 12 book chapters and a sole-authored textbook. Matthew’s mission is to foster excellence in naturopathic medicine in order to advance the field of naturopathy, and ultimately, to improve patient outcomes.
