The Brief

Fisher Leadership supported the high-profile community health organisation, to appoint a new CEO. With the imminent expiry of the employment contract for their Interim CEO, the Board sought to undertake a robust recruitment process to fill the position with an outstanding individual who would take the organisation forward. The primary focus of the position is to lead the delivery of best-practice, high quality integrated health services that strengthen the capacity of individuals and communities across the neighbourhood and local area more broadly.​

Solution Building​

A comprehensive briefing process undertaken with the Selection Panel where it was identified it was critical for the new CEO to have a well-developed understanding of community and the social determinants of health. Knowledge and experience in AOD was considered an advantage and political dexterity was considered essential. The Selection Panel sought to appoint a high caliber leader who could inspire the staff, re-instate a high performing culture and build trusted relationships with the wide range of stakeholders.​

Fisher Leadership conducted a full search supported by a national advertising campaign. Fisher Leadership approached people across the health sector who had strong backgrounds in community, AOD and harm reduction as well as in migrant services. The Selection Panel conducted first round interviews with six highly qualified candidates.. ​

The Outcome​

The successful candidate commenced in July 2020. With more than three decades experience in both public and private health, thye bring a deep understanding of acute, primary, aged and community health services. A clinician by background, they are a politically astute leader who has held CEO and Managing Director level roles in complex health environments.​
