Claire Woods has been appointed the position of Executive Director People & Culture at Ballarat Health Services to take carriage of all aspects of strategic HR, work health and safety, organisational development, communications and fundraising.

Claire demonstrates a passion and skill for HR that has been developed across HR management positions in a range of industries including health, community services and banking.  Claire has held HR positions with Mercy Health since early 2013, originally commencing as Group Human Resources Manager and then moving to her final position of General Manager Human Resources in June 2016. The scope of Claire’s position encompasses approximately 4200 within the health services division.  Claire was primarily focussed on providing HR advice to the group executive in relation to industrial relations matters, including acquisitions, organisational change, employment contracts, HR policies and group wide industrial relations issues.  A key achievement in this role has been the redesign and implementation of a new model of HR service delivery which has resulted in improved HR servicing, backed up by improved feedback from the Health services leadership team.

In her role as Group Human Resources Manager for Mercy Health, Claire delivered the successful transition from a fee for services to staff specialist model within Werribee Mercy Hospital, delivered a change of service delivery model within the IT department, and worked with the leadership team to implement a new shared services performance review and remuneration review process.

Before joining Mercy Health Claire spent five years as Human Resources Manager with Interact Australia, a support and employment services for people living with a disability.
