Dr. Kathryn Morris has been appointed to the position of Senior IP Manager with Agriculture Victoria Services

Dr. Kathryn Morris has been appointed to the position of Senior IP Manager with Agriculture Victoria Services commencing on 8 March 2022. In this role Kathryn will play a pivotal role in the protection, management and strategic direction of intellectual property, within the AVS IP portfolio, including compliance, opposition and litigation matters and will support the AVS team to maximise the adoption, value and impact of Agriculture Victoria Research innovations.

As a qualified patent and trademarks attorney with 24 years’ experience in patent management in the life science industry including agricultural and pharmaceutical industries, Kathryn has spent the last 15 years focussing on assisting Australian companies with management of their IP portfolios including identifying inventions, obtaining IP protection, aligning IP strategy with commercial strategy, assessing freedom to operate and assisting with licensing.

Since 2015 Kathryn has been Principal with Griffith Hack, a firm providing services in patents, trade marks and intellectual property law services. Prior to this Kathryn has held positions as Partner and Patent Attorney at Davies Collison Cave for 15 years.
