Executive Director People and Culture - Fisher Leadership

Executive Director
People and Culture

Delivery of the ongoing program of cultural change

The Brief

After a period of organisational restructure and transformational change, Melbourne Health sought the assistance of Fisher Leadership to replace their Executive Director, People and Culture after the resignation of the incumbent. With a continuing program of cultural change in progress, Melbourne Health required an innovative, progressive and credible individual who would be visible within the organisation, rather than a ‘support’ person.

Solution Building

Fisher Leadership undertook a national search (Australia and New Zealand) supported by a press and online advertising campaign, with a view to focus on candidates operating within large complex organisations. In addition to targeting public and private health organisations, Fisher Leadership approached candidates within the education, banking and retail sectors, of which a number with multi-sector experience were included on the long-short-list. Fisher Leadership coordinated panel interviews including the provision of interview guides, along with managing psychometric assessment of the final two candidates. Full 360 degree reference checking along with verification of qualifications was completed prior to an offer being made.

The Outcome

After a comprehensive process, including panel interviews and full reference checking, Ms Ellen Flint was appointed, commenced in September 2017 and remains in the position at this time. Ellen is an experienced senior Human Resources executive having worked for over 20 years in Human Resources, Organisational Development and Industrial Relations. Ellen previously held the position of General Manager People, Development and Diversity at Benetas.

Fisher Leadership has continued our relationship with Melbourne Health during 2020 completing the search to appoint a Director Security & Safety focussed on driving proactive and leading-edge security and safety practices.
