Strategies to Support Frontline Healthcare Workers and Leaders during times of Crisis

In 2020, the Australian COVID-19 Frontline Health Workers Study examined the severity and prevalence of mental health issues, as well as the social, workplace and financial disruptions experienced by Australian healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. With over 9500 respondents, it was the largest multi-occupation survey globally, and highlighted the need to develop strategies and services to ‘future-proof’ the mental health and wellbeing of this workforce.

The ‘Future Proofing the Frontline’ project aims to:

  • Work with Victorian frontline healthcare workers to co-design occupational mental health supports that they will value and will use;
  • Understand the experiences of managers and leaders who are responsible for supporting the mental health of frontline healthcare workforce; and
  • Make policy and practice recommendations that will ensure that the mental health needs of frontline healthcare workers are addressed and prioritised in future crises.

Help inform the supports you need and would use.

CLA is proud to support this important research and urges eligible health care workers to add their voices. You are eligible to participate if you are a Victorian leader or a manager in healthcare or a Victorian frontline healthcare worker.
