The Brief

The client required the assistance of Fisher Leadership to conduct a search for a Board Member – Digital, at the same time as conducting a search for a Chair, Audit and Risk and a Board Member- Migration. The client sought candidates with prior experience acting as a Director on a Board and individuals who were familiar with all of the key reporting, due diligence and associated Board responsibilities. Successful appointees would be expected to have an understanding of the contemporary issues facing Boards and, naturally, they would be passionate about philanthropy and the work of the client. With regard to the Digital role, the requirement was for the appointee to possess experience in delivering strategic responses to digital disruption and digital transformation including new business models.​

Solution Building​

Following the briefing from the client, Fisher Leadership compiled a Search Strategy and advertising campaign for the client’s review. Fisher Leadership utilised our known networks to reach out to over 120 contacts and referral partners to ascertain either their interest in the role, or obtain their qualified recommendations. The search process was supported by an online advertising campaign. Following extensive candidate assessment and interviews, Fisher Leadership presented an initial report on five qualified candidates, with three chosen for panel interview.​

The Outcome​

Following the selection panel interviews, the successful candidate was appointed to the role of Board Member – Digital. They were previously a senior consumer services technology executive, with over 20 years’ experience developing unique solutions within Retail, B2C and B2B. They bring to the role a deep understanding of payments technologies along with expertise and skill in executing large, complex, strategic projects that deliver significant business transformation and improved competitive advantage. ​
