Kim Elith has been appointed as Director of Learning with Firbank Grammar School

Kim Elith will take up the position of Director of Learning with Firbank Grammar School to drive the delivery of learning outcomes, providing leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of quality teaching practices across the School.  She will commence in Term 2 2021.

Kim is a highly experienced senior education executive, with a proven track record in curriculum development, teaching and learning, strategic leadership and stakeholder management.  Kim’s career has been supported by a Masters in Education focused on curriculum development and design.

Since January 2015 Kim has held the position of Director of Curriculum at Queenwood with responsibility for the curriculum and quality of teaching across K-12.  Kim has developed a teaching and learning team, supporting them with evidence-based best practice professional development opportunities. Kim leads the delivery of a dual curriculum including IB, with full responsibility for teacher accreditation processes.  Key programs and projects that Kim has worked on include oversight of Specialised Learning to ensure diverse student needs are met, cross-curricular initiatives to promote ICT and STEAM skills, and the integration of Junior and Senior School.

Prior to joining Queenwood, Kim spent nine years with St Ignatius College, Riverview.  Originally commencing as Assistant Head of English, Kim spent time as Prefect of Studies and Head of English before her final position coordinating the Academic Staff Review and Development Framework.  As Project Coordinator Kim provided whole school leadership for the design and development of a staff appraisal, review and development framework.  Kim completed the research and design for the framework and subsequently led the professional development for all staff.
