Mark Daldorf is Toi Pūmanawa – Director, People and Capability at Victoria University of Wellington – Te Herenga Waka

Fisher Leadership was delighted to continue our partnership with Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington recently on three important positions.  Ranked as New Zealand’s leading university for research quality, the University’s vision is to be a world-leading capital city university and one of the great global-civic universities.  Its iho, or essence, is as a global-civic university with its marae at heart.

Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor and as part of the senior leadership team, the Toi Pūmanawa – Director, People and Capability leads a multidisciplinary human resources team of over 50 staff at Wellington’s second largest employer.  At a time of change, this role offered the exciting opportunity to develop the vision for the function, transforming the services that support the University as it strives to achieve its strategic plan and ambitions.

With an extensive career in the government, defence, banking, retail, aviation and supply chain industries, Mark Daldorf brings 30 years’ management experience in leadership and organisational development, learning, recruitment and general HR leadership to the position.  Mark’s international experience includes roles as Head of People and Capability at the Airways Corporation and Chief People Officer at the New Zealand Inland Revenue Department.  A former founding member of the advisory board for the British University in Dubai and EQUIS reviewer, Mark has also been a member of the Advisory Board at Bradford School of Management and the Global Business Consortium at the London Business School.
