Matt Opie is the new Defence Industry Director at the University of South Australia

Matt Opie is the new Defence Industry Director at the University of South Australia. Matt has over 25 years’ experience as a program and business manager within defence and high technology industries. Matt was previously the Head of Industry Engagement at Saab for ten years, where he was responsible for the development and delivery of a global supply chain / partnership (B2B) program, identification, development and sustainment of industrial agreements and partnerships with strategic suppliers and the identification, development and sustainment of opportunities for Australian suppliers to engage in the Saab global supply chain. Prior to this, Matt was the Program Manager at BAE systems where he managed various defence technology projects. Working on projects internationally in the Asia-Pacific region, the US and Europe, Matt has extensive experience in engaging with defence companies, from multi national’s to SME’s.
