Michael Sanese is Director, HR Performance, Workforce Planning and Insights at the University of Sydney
Michael Sanese has been appointed to the Director, HR Performance, Workforce Planning and Insights position at the University of Sydney. In this important role, he will lead the ongoing development and improvement of HR services and capabilities, enabling data-driven workforce planning across the University. Michael will provide high level leadership and expertise to guide the University executive and senior leaders to identify and make strategic decisions around workforce priorities and solutions, leveraging data and analytics, and lead the optimisation and performance of HR.
A passionate HR leader with a track record in strategic roles in the public sector and as a workforce transformation consultant, Michael is experienced in leading complex HR strategy, workforce planning and transformation. Most recently at PwC Australia, he has led multiple complex workforce transformation and optimisation engagements across Australia and Southeast Asia including the development 20+ year strategic workforce plans and skills frameworks for emerging capabilities; optimising HR business partnering models to improve strategic value; and redesigning workforce planning functions to improve capability and employee engagement. Michael has previously led strategic workforce planning, business partnering, and change management in positions within the Australian Government.
