The Position

This leadership position is an exciting opportunity to lead the Community, Wellbeing and Inclusion (CWI) Division covering a diverse and impactful portfolio including childcare centres, aged care services, libraries, outreach programs and open spaces.

As a member of the executive leadership team and reporting to the CEO, the General Manager CWI and leads a division of approximately 320 officers, through four direct reports. The role holds budget responsibility of $48million per year and also sponsors over $100million of service reform projects which are to be delivered in the next three years.

With a track record of developing high performing teams, and successfully sponsoring major projects and change initiatives, you will be a collaborative leader who thrives in engaging with diverse communities to drive tangible benefits. You will have proven ability to effectively communicate, advocate and position Council’s role, direction, objectives and plans before a diverse range of audiences.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of strategic contemporary social development and be responsive to changes in community trends and expectations. Demonstrating high commercial acumen, you understand how to drive value for money outcomes and sustainable delivery.

Through effective design and delivery, you will foster active participation in community life and genuine engagement that supports Council’s aspirations for the Port Phillip community.
