The Opportunity

The Australian Institute of Business (AIB) is seeking an exceptional Academic Dean to provide leadership and strategic direction to the integrated academic portfolio.  This important position will maintain and further develop academic excellence, contemporary sector-leading content delivery, and outstanding service and support to AIB students.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and with eleven direct reports, including four Discipline Leaders, the Academic Dean will work collaboratively across a portfolio comprising teaching, research, online learning and library, academic operations and student support.  As a member of the executive management team, the Academic Dean will promote AIB as a quality provider of internationally accredited higher education, engaging with relevant regulators and colleagues sector wide.  With a focus on continuous improvement, the role will ensure a highly contemporary approach to leading teaching and learning, ensuring delivery is focused on the quality of teaching, assessment and the student journey.

With a PhD qualification, the ideal candidate will bring high level executive leadership and management skills, gained in a complex learning environment.  The appointee will be a hands-on, self-motivated and resilient individual with demonstrated experience in leading contemporary teaching and learning methods, including online learning.  Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement abilities will be key to success in inspiring the team, fostering relationships and continuing to build on the organisation’s high reputation.
