Reporting to the Principal, and part of the College Executive Leadership Team, the Assistant Principal: Head of Junior School will lead and direct Reception to Year 6 staff, ensuring quality teaching and learning, a best practice approach to pedagogical and curriculum development, and the embodiment of the Loreto mission and values. With the Junior School staff and students currently flourishing, this is an opportunity to build and continue to develop excellence in all areas and create a strong vision. A key opportunity will be for the appointee to work with the incoming Principal who will commence in January 2024.
With a strong focus on the education of girls, the appointee will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of educational theory and practice, wellbeing, and the growth and development of students from Reception to Year 6. It is essential the successful candidate has a strong understanding of data and analytics and how to use it to drive improvements in all outcomes. The ability to engage in the classroom and provide constructive feedback for teachers will be highly regarded. The appointee will possess outstanding interpersonal skills combined with a supportive and engaging style that nurtures, challenges and inspires students, staff and families. Presenting with a demonstrable ability to build community, the successful appointee will display a caring and compassionate approach to engagement with all stakeholders. Alignment to the Loreto mission, values and charism is critical and the Assistant Principal: Head of Junior School will play a key role in driving the passion for the Loreto way.
