The Organisation

The Knox School (TKS) is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational day school, located in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Wantirna South. The school is a member of the Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne association and has approximately 780 students.

Empowering students to grow with care, empathy, resilience, responsibility and respect through future-focused learning programs, students are encouraged to develop a sense of agency and social justice for themself and others. By ACTing (Advocate, Contribute, Thrive) out their lives the students learn how to effect positive change and make a difference.

The Early Learning Centre, Junior School and Senior School are situated on one campus, emphasising the school’s strength as a connected learning community and enabling many opportunities for collaboration, mentoring and role modelling.

The staff at TKS recognise children as individuals and discover what motivates and inspires them to learn. The personalised learning approach focuses on their strengths, skill development and ambitions. This is enacted through the framework of the three interconnected journeys. The first journey is the academic journey, the second is that of skills (with a focus on the 4 C’s) and the third is the journey of character and contribution. The holistic approach allows the students to thrive and to flourish; to live a life underpinned by strong values and a desire to give back. At TKS, the students are encouraged to extend themselves in their learning, while providing time and resources when they may need extra support.
