They will be responsible for overseeing the statutory, financial and other reporting obligations as well as overseeing systems for managing risk.
The Australian Red Cross is a large, complex organisation that is actively reimagining itself in a fast-evolving world. Members of the Audit & Risk Committee will need to consider non-traditional risks and take a horizon scan approach to developing and maintaining contemporary and effective audit and risk governance.
Equipped with experience gained in large complex organisations, the Audit & Risk Committee Member will have a background in finance, accounting and audit, and will be well versed in mitigating and solving contemporary risk. Possessing a high level of emotional intelligence, they will have a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Movement.
The Australian Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian organisation. Red Cross mobilises the power of humanity to bring people and communities together in times of need and builds on community strengths.
As a body independent of government, and with no political, religious or cultural affiliation, the organisation strives to improve peoples’ lives and build their resilience no matter who they are or where they live.
All Red Cross work is guided by the seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Red Crescent movement: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality.
