The Position
The Australian Red Cross seeks to appoint a new Committee Member to its Audit & Risk Committee.  The Committee Member will contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction and the achievement of the highest standards of governance.  They will be responsible for overseeing the statutory, financial and other reporting obligations as well as overseeing systems for managing risk.
The Australian Red Cross is a large, complex organisation that is actively reimagining itself in a fast-evolving world. As it starts to embed operating models of the future, a forward-thinking, contemporary lens on risk will be required. Members of the Audit & Risk Committee will need to consider non-traditional risks and take a horizon scan approach to developing and maintaining contemporary and effective audit and risk governance.
Equipped with experience gained in large complex organisations, the Audit & Risk Committee Member will have a background in finance, accounting and audit, and will be well versed in mitigating and solving contemporary risk. They will demonstrate commitment to applying principles of good governance and will have experience with transformation and organisational change. Possessing a high level of emotional intelligence, they will have a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Movement.
