The Position
The Board of Quantum are currently seeking to appoint a new Chairperson, following the valuable contribution that Roland Davies has made for a number of years as Chair. The role of the Chair is an important link between the Board and the organisation’s management via the CE. The role is to provide leadership, support and direction to the Directors through the development and implementation of its Strategic Plan. The Board consists of a Chair, Deputy Chair and six Members. In addition to the routine Board meetings, Members also generally participate on 1 or 2 of the Board sub-committees. The sub- committees focus on key areas of strategic interest. Current sub-committees are: Finance and Audit, Quality and Risk, People Culture and Safety, and Remuneration and Performance.
Expressions of interest are invited from community members for both Chair and Non-Executive Director positions. Importantly, candidates will demonstrate a strong alignment to the Quantum mission and offer previous governance experience. Expertise spanning strategy, risk, finance, service quality, government relations and stakeholder engagement is desired.
2-hour Board meetings are held bimonthly with subcommittee meetings held during the alternate month.
The Organisation
Quantum Support Services (Quantum) has operated in the Gippsland region for over 30 years. During this time, the organisation has built a strong reputation providing family violence specialist services and homelessness programs. Quantum is a not-for-profit charitable support organisation, which means that all funds are used to support the community in which it operates. A range of services are provided throughout Gippsland including Homelessness and youth crisis accommodation, tenancy, advocacy and support, connecting people with universal services, assisting vulnerable people to access health services and other support providers, supporting women and children affected by family violence, child and youth programs, out of home care including foster and kinship care and as a provider of services as part of The Orange Door (Inner Gippsland) initiative.
With a vision “to enrich the wellbeing of Gippslanders”, Quantum strives to be a leader in the provision of homelessness and family violence support services for the broader Gippsland Community. The past few years has seen an expansion of the scope and provision of services to meet community needs, which is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.
