The Position
The dynamic and evolving disability services provider, Possability, seeks to appoint a new Board Director who will bring deep expertise in finance and accounting. The Board Director will be responsible for contributing to the appropriate strategic direction for the organisation and for the achievement of the highest standards of governance. With Possability now operating in three states and set on a firm growth trajectory, the Board Director will contribute to the monitoring of financial capacity performance, including the approval of financial reports and the assessment of a range of new opportunities.
The Board Director will join Possability’s Audit & Risk Committee which plays a crucial role in assisting the Board to fulfil its governance responsibilities in exercising due care, diligence and skill. As a member of this Committee, the Board Director will have responsibility for monitoring and advising on financial reporting, the management of specific risk areas, oversight of capital expenditure as well as the effectiveness and operation of internal controls over financial, operations and reporting.
As a CA and/or CPA and preferably a graduate of the AICD, the Board Director will have an exemplary background in finance, accounting, risk and audit. Highly commercial, s/he will have gained high level financial management experience within a similar sized organisation and will have been actively involved in seeking out opportunities to grow enterprises and move ideas to commercial reality. The ability to ensure complex financial concepts are readily understood by non-finance specialists is highly desirable. Presenting as a contemporary thinker who has a high level of emotional intelligence, the Board Director will identify with the Possability values of responsive, courageous, skilful and inspired. Previous Board level experience is not required.
