- Inaugural Board opportunity
- Contribute to a vibrant tourism precinct
- Campaspe Port Enterprise – Echuca
The Port of Echuca is a major tourism offering, featuring local history, the heritage wharf and paddlesteamers. As well as the wharf and historic buildings, the Port Precinct features Campaspe Shire Council’s Discovery Centre, incorporating a museum, equipment displays, demonstrations and ticket sales for cruises on authentic paddlesteamers.
The Campaspe Shire Council’s involvement in the Port of Echuca began from the need to encourage economic activity and to ensure the preservation of nationally significant heritage.
The Council has now proposed to establish a Beneficial Enterprise under the Local Government Act 2020. The Enterprise is responsible for the management and operation of the visitor attractions (budget, ticketing, retail, staffing and all tourism and visitor activities within the Precinct).
As a Member of the Board, you will be responsible for the overall governance, management and strategic direction of the Enterprise, consistent with the Service Level Agreement, and for delivering accountable performance in accordance with the Enterprise’s goals and objectives.
Board Directors will bring specialist skills, knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- travel, tourism, hospitality and leisure
- finance management and investment facilitation
- community engagement
- cultural and heritage values management
- legal and industrial relations
- land-use planning and landscape architecture
