The Position
Bendigo Kangan Institute is seeking to appoint an experienced and contemporary Board Secretary. This role will ensure the smooth operation of all BKI Board of Director meetings and subsequent Committee meetings, facilitating seamless communication and providing advice on relevant governance issues in a regulated environment.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Board Secretary will assist the Chair and Directors in the conduct of all Board and Committee meetings and their directorial and governance obligations and responsibilities, ensuring that accurate meeting minutes are recorded, and all other appropriate records are maintained from a legal requirement and best practice perspective.
To take up this challenge you will have previous Board or Committee secretarial experience with relevant company secretarial qualifications. You will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, have a collaborative style and be skilled at building relationships and trust with key stakeholders. You will also be a team player with strong people centred leadership competencies.
The Organisation
Bendigo Kangan Institute was established in 2014 by the merger of two TAFE institutes – Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute – and two related service providers – VETASSESS and eWorks. The organisation is one of Victoria’s most prominent vocational training providers.
Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute provide training to over 30,000 students in health and community services, environment and primary industries, hair and beauty, creative industries, trades, automotive, professional industries and foundation studies.  VETASSESS also provides over 30,000 skills assessments, while eWorks supports over 87 e-learning customers and hosts digital content used by over 115,000 users.
