We have an impactful opportunity to join the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) as the Branch Manager Cyber Security and Resilience responsible for safeguarding systems and information that form part of the world leading National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and provide peace of mind for every Australian.

The NDIA is seeking a proven cybersecurity professional to fill the SES Band 1 Branch Manager Cyber Security and Resilience role. You will provide expert strategic and operational leadership to safeguard the integrity and security of NDIA technology platforms, ensuring that sensitive information remains protected and accessible to those who need it. Functional leadership of the Branch is broad including managing staff, financial and physical resources, performance management, conflict resolution, identification of capacity, capability development and training.

The SES Band 1 Branch Manager Cyber Security and Resilience role is a critical executive role in the organisation working with internal and external stakeholders and leveraging partnerships. You will be trusted adviser and systems thinker with in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, emerging threats, and regulatory requirements.
With a constant evolving ICT estate, you will have the foresight and thought leadership to address emerging cyber threats and a continuous improvement mindset to future proof the organisation. You will provide contemporary and evidence-based cyber security advice and your enabling mindset will influence and drive best practice cyber policies, tools, and forge partnerships that expand and mature the cyber resilience of the agency.
Placing a high priority on customer needs and demonstrating a positive attitude in the face of difficult or challenging situations, you will support the NDIA’s mission to ‘build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme’.

You will have experience of stewardship of large and complex cyber capabilities delivered through a commitment to building internal and external partnerships and business enablement. Along with technical expertise, you will bring a contemporary approach to people leadership with a focus on talent development and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Relevant qualifications are advantageous and a personal commitment to ongoing professional development, so you stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in this field. Possession of industry-leading Cyber Security Certifications are highly desirable.
What you should know
To be eligible for employment with the NDIA, you must be an Australian citizen. A candidate’s suitability for employment with the Agency will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This will include a criminal history check and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance, at the Negative Vetting 1 level. This will be arranged for you, if successful.
