SES Band 1 – Branch Manager Opportunities – People Culture and Wellbeing

  • Bring energy and drive to build organisational capability and enable customer outcomes
  • Provide thought leadership on employee wellbeing, productivity and development
  • Drive an accessible, inclusive and brilliant employee experience for people with disability and all backgrounds

About the role

As a Branch Manager in the People Culture & Wellbeing Division (PC&W), you have the unique opportunity to directly shape and support a high-performing organisation.

You will work with Branch Managers across PC&W to drive continuous improvement and develop a professional and proactive people, culture and wellbeing function.  You will build capability to deliver a quality and consistent experience for managers and staff across the NDIA nationally and enable them to achieve their objectives.  As part of the leadership team, you will lead engagement and champion inclusion to support the health, wellbeing, and performance of our people.

You will collaborate with teams across the Agency to ensure understanding of role responsibilities and expectations, and how it contributes to caring for the safety and wellbeing of all team members.

You will be surrounded by empathic senior leaders who value your personal growth and share your commitment to being a trusted expert partner to the business.  Your peers will embrace your diversity of skills, experience, abilities, and ideas.  We know a diverse workforce and inclusive workplace drives our success and have outlined our commitment in the Inclusion and Diversity Framework.

About you

As a change agent, an innovator, and a progressive thinker, you approach challenging situations with optimism and curiosity. You enjoy working with people, for people, and bring energy and commitment to our shared passion for driving social change, so people with disability have choice and control over their lives.

We are looking for leaders with an obsession for excellent customer service and a hunger to get things done. We are open to range of professional backgrounds and sector experience.

As a trusted leader with proven interpersonal skills, you are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and acting on multi-dimensional and complex issues.  You understand and deliver exceptional customer service whilst fostering a sense of shared purpose among your team and stakeholders.

You value partnership, genuine co-design, and respect diverse ideas and perspectives.  Because of this, your experience is both broad and deep – possibly gained outside of traditional HR roles but with a willingness to try new approaches, take risks and learn.

You understand that we put participants at the heart of everything we do. You understand that for the Scheme to succeed, it is critical that we listen and work with our participants, their families and carers and the disability community to make sure each improvement is a step in the right direction and the Scheme is available for generations to come.

About the NDIA

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency. We are responsible for implementing the world leading National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms since Medicare.  The NDIS is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and provide peace of mind for every Australian.

The People Culture and Wellbeing Division (PC&W) is crucial to supporting and building a high-performing and operationally excellent NDIA and enabling other areas of NDIA to get things done.

To support our focus and an engaged and capable NDIA, the Agency supports flexible working arrangements – this underpins a diverse, adaptive, and high-performing workforce.

What you should know

To be eligible for employment with the NDIA, you must be an Australian citizen. A candidate’s suitability for employment with the Agency will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This will include a criminal history check and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance, at the Negative Vetting 1 level. This will be arranged for you, if successful.

The NDIA will provide reasonable adjustments for candidates to participate equitably in the recruitment process and discuss workplace adjustments to fulfil the requirements of the role.

We strongly and actively encourage applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, including people with disability, First Nations peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and LGBTIQA+ people.
