The Position
Newhaven College seeks to appoint a strategic leader to the position of Business Manager following the resignation of Stuart Robinson after four years of outstanding service. This is a critical senior leadership position and will provide oversight of business services for the College.
Reporting directly to the Principal as the Chief Executive Officer of the College, the scope of the position includes the functions of finance, property, transport, administration and compliance.   The Business Manager is a member of the School Executive and as Secretary to the School Council, the Business Manager also has responsibilities to the Council.  The school is in a strong position which has laid the foundation for further expansion and growth in the coming years and the Business Manager will provide essential advice and guidance across future planning and management.  The successful appointee will join an outstanding Executive Team who have created an enjoyable work environment and a sense of balance.
The Business Manager is a highly visible position in College and the appointee will demonstrate an ability to build trust, rapport and develop collaborative working relationships at all levels.  The ideal candidate will be a strategic and operational leader with significant experience in leading, implementing and reviewing quality processes and strategies.  With demonstrated strong financial, risk and governance experience gained within an independent school or similar environment, the appointee will have the ability to project manage capital works programs including risk, budget and resource management.  Presenting with outstanding interpersonal skills the successful candidate will foster a positive and dynamic working environment and promote excellent working relationships between teaching and non-teaching staff to deliver first rate outcomes for students, staff and the community.  The Business Manager will be a prominent and active member of the College community, engaging with staff and parents on a regular basis.
