Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this important position is responsible for driving the establishment of and leading the Research, Policy and Performance Excellence function.  The appointee will analyse data on school and system performance, oversee and undertake strategic research, and coordinate policy development to ensure the best opportunities for students in Victorian Catholic schools.  The Manager will also lead submissions to government and regulatory agencies.

With demonstrated experience in leading strategic research, data analysis and/or performance assessment, preferably in the education sector or involving funding models, the ideal candidate will bring a track record in the collection and interpretation of data, with the ability to lead research and provide evidence-based insights and recommendations.  A track record in project management will be essential, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.  With superior communication skills and the ability to build and nurture relationships with a range of stakeholders, you will be able to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner.  You will enjoy building a high performing team, inspiring them to contribute to a productive and agile culture to ultimately ensure outstanding education outcomes.

The Organisation

The Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV) is the peak body for Catholic education in Victoria.  Established in 1973 by the Archbishop of Melbourne and the Bishops of the Ballarat, Sale, and Sandhurst dioceses, it was incorporated in 2006 and acts as the voice of Catholic education in state and national matters.

CECV receives and distributes funding from state and federal governments for Catholic schools, provides strategic leadership and planning, and ensures proper governance in Catholic education statewide.  It is responsible for sector leadership in education integrity and governance and has a Memorandum of Understanding to act as a Review Body for Catholic schools with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA).  As a Review Body, CECV supports, reviews, and monitors the compliance of Catholic schools with all registration, reporting and other requirements under relevant laws.

CECV is currently engaged in a significant organisational redesign, the overriding objective of which is to establish a robust and sustainable CECV for the future.
