The Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV) seeks an outstanding candidate to lead and oversee the administration, allocation, monitoring and reporting of state and federal Catholic capital block grant programs as Manager, Services and Capital Funding.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this important position supports CECV’s strategic planning, allocation, acquittal, and evaluation of funding distributed by CECV, leading negotiations with state and federal government.  Playing a pivotal role in the engagement of stakeholders on matters relating to capital grants, this role offers the opportunity to shape and lead process improvements through a period of renewal for CECV.  This new position will support the CFO and the Chief Operating Officer in the establishment of the Services and Capital Funding Team, collaborating across the organisation to promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

With at least five years’ experience in a related grants management role, the ideal candidate will be proficient in the administration, management and operations of grants schemes or programs, including budget, compliance, and performance management.  Demonstrating success in navigating complex hierarchies and structures, you will also understand the legislative and regulatory environment for state and federal capital funding and Victorian Catholic schooling.  Outstanding communication skills, the ability to influence, and strengths in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships will be essential, and you will bring a track record in developing and leading a high-performing and inclusive team.

With a relevant tertiary qualification, the successful candidate will be personally aligned with the ethos, values and mission of Catholic education and to CECV’s values of fairness, transparency, integrity, and Christian concern for all.

The organisation

The Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV) is the peak body for Catholic education in Victoria.  Established in 1973 by the Archbishop of Melbourne and the Bishops of the Ballarat, Sale, and Sandhurst dioceses, it was incorporated in 2006 and acts as the voice of Catholic education in state and national matters.

CECV receives and distributes funding from state and federal governments for Catholic schools, provides strategic leadership and planning, and ensures proper governance in Catholic education statewide.  It is responsible for sector leadership in education integrity and governance and has a Memorandum of Understanding to act as a Review Body for Catholic schools with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA).  As a Review Body, CECV supports, reviews, and monitors the compliance of Catholic schools with all registration, reporting and other requirements under relevant laws.

CECV is currently engaged in a significant organisational redesign, the overriding objective of which is to establish a robust and sustainable CECV for the future.
