The Position
Western District Health Service (WDHS) and Casterton Memorial Hospital (CMH) seek to appoint a strategic, inspiring and community focused Chief Executive Officer, to lead the two health services across the respective communities in the South West and Western Victoria. The services have a close partnership and the appointment of a dual CEO is an opportunity to further strengthen collaboration and partnership opportunities in the regions.
Reporting to the WDHS and CMH Boards, the CEO will continue to build on the values based culture of the organisations and drive improved outcomes through the coordination of services across the region, facilitating increased sharing of resources, expertise and best practice. With different opportunities and challenges for both services, the incoming CEO will lead in a highly complex environment to deliver efficiency of services and infrastructure, enabling the provision of services closer to patients and consumers within the communities.
The incoming CEO will be a visionary and strategic leader who is driven by core values and who is empowering and inclusive in approach. As an experienced healthcare leader, the CEO will lead reform discussions with government, board and staff through influence and respect and be a strong advocate for the health services. The CEO will demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement and be forward thinking and cognisant of the requirements of the region both now and for the future.
This is an opportunity as an inaugural dual CEO of WDHS and CMH, to lead the services during a time of change and to drive the provision of best practice, continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
The Organisations
Western District Health Services (WDHS) and Casterton Memorial Hospital (CMH) Boards have agreed to appoint a dual CEO to further strengthen the ties to support the communities they serve.
WDHS is a sub-regional service provider with a proud reputation as one of Victoria’s leading and innovative rural and regional health services. Located in the Southern Grampians Shire in Victoria’s Western District, WDHS supports the healthcare needs of the Shire’s resident population of 16,200 people, with approximately 9,800 living in Hamilton; the geographic and business hub of the region.
Casterton Memorial Hospital has delivered acute care, primary care, aged care and allied health services to the local community and district for over 100 years, and currently supports a population of approximately 4,000 residents.
