Chief Academic Officer
Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) is seeking to appoint a dynamic and collaborative Chief Academic Officer to deliver outstanding and contemporary academic outcomes in a rapidly changing national market. This role will play an integral role in leading the quality and compliance agenda across BKI to ensure the delivery of an exceptional learning experience for all students.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) will ensure the delivery of high quality and innovative courses that meet the needs of students and industry. Providing a highly contemporary approach to teaching and learning, the CAO will manage the planning and evaluation of programs across BKI to ensure delivery is focussed on the quality of teaching, assessment and the student journey.
With a clear focus on addressing the standards required by registering authorities such as the Australian Skills Quality Authority and the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, the new CAO will champion best-practice systems and approaches across the educational delivery stream and play an integral role in driving BKI’s strategic vision to deliver leading-edge teaching and a transformational student experience.
With proven success in a large and complex learning environment, you will be a hands-on, self-motivated and resilient individual with demonstrated experience in leading the provision of teaching, learning and quality. You will possess demonstrated experience working at an executive level in the tertiary education and/or VET sector with experience in managing multiple stakeholders and successfully negotiating and developing initiatives to positively impact the organisation.
About Bendigo Kangan Institute
Bendigo Kangan Institute was established in 2014 by the merger of two TAFE institutes – Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute – and two related service providers – VETASSESS and eWorks. The organisation is one of Victoria’s most prominent vocational training providers.
In 2016, Bendigo Kangan Institute provided training to over 32,000 students in health and community services, environment and primary industries, hair and beauty, creative industries, trades, automotive, professional industries and foundation studies. Through VETASSESS, BKI also provided almost 30,000 skills assessments, while eWorks supported over 87 e-learning customers and hosted digital content used by over 115,000 users.
