The Position 

The CeSO will provide leadership across the health sector to deliver effective ICT and cybersecurity plans and strategy, protecting digital and information assets and providing assurance for project delivery, data confidentiality, integrity, and system availability.

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Dr Lance Emerson and working collaboratively with the eHealth Executive Team, the CeSO will ensure effective linkages across the Division and the Department, and develop strong relationships with health sector partners.

Success requires delivering on priority government initiatives including supporting interjurisdictional work and national strategic priorities and driving reform and system improvements that achieve immediate impact as well as long-term change. Leading a Branch of around 50 professional employees you will cultivate a culture of innovation, learning and continuous improvement.

Coming with breadth of experience, you will be highly driven demonstrating contemporary thought leadership and an ability to influence others to maximise the effectiveness of e- health solutions to improve outcomes for Victorians.

You will have gained senior management or executive experience in public health at state or national level ideally, along with experience of, or strong working knowledge in IT strategy / systems, cybersecurity, information management or data governance.

An appropriate tertiary qualification in health, economics, business management, technology management, strategy and innovation, political science, public administration, or public policy is expected. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field would be advantageous.
