The Position
Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) seeks to appoint an outstanding Chief Executive to lead the organisation into its next phase of growth. The new appointee will build on the excellent work of retiring incumbent Peter Craighead OAM, who has led the organisation admirably over the past nearly 13 years. The organisation finds itself an at exciting juncture with a period of substantial growth and development which will result in greater programs and services being offered as well as more education opportunities for people in the local area.
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive will be responsible for providing a best-practice high quality health service that is cost-effective and responsive to government policy direction and community needs. Engaging collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the CE will identify and leverage opportunities with a focus on providing outstanding client-centred care and services and driving a diverse and inclusive culture where employees are highly engaged.
Equipped with senior leadership experience gained in a healthcare setting, the successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement with strategic, analytical and commercial skills in management and service delivery. An excellent understanding of the current issues affecting public health will be coupled with the acumen to work in a complex and community focused environment. With a strong focus on building and empowering partnerships the successful candidate will be an enabler with a can-do attitude. Experience in a regional setting will be highly regarded.
The Organisation
Latrobe Regional Hospital is Gippsland’s specialist referral and trauma centre located 150km east of Melbourne and is one of the region’s largest employers. LRH is a purpose built teaching hospital with 315 beds providing care for more than 260,000 people across the region.
The health service offers medical services including elective surgery, emergency care, aged care, obstetrics, mental health, pharmacy, rehabilitation and medical and radiation oncology.
