The Position

The Stroke Foundation is seeking a visionary and mission-centred individual to lead the organisation in the delivery of Stroke Strategy 2024 in what will be Stroke Foundation’s 25th year of operation.

Reporting to the Chair and working closely with the Board, the CEO is accountable for leadership, strategy, and operations and will drive excellence in all aspects of research, prevention and program delivery.  Supporting a committed and focused workforce of employees and volunteers, this role will provide strategic advice on policy and operational matters to the Board, deepen relationships with government, health, community and corporate agencies, donors and maintain a strong public profile.

The successful incumbent will be an inspirational and inclusive CEO who builds trust to lead the performance and well-being of people and organisation. An exceptional communicator, advocate and influencer you will have a track record of building mutually beneficial partnerships and offer extensive knowledge of the health care system.  Superior financial management skills and an understanding of contemporary fundraising are key to success in the role.

Tertiary qualifications in health, management or a related field are essential.

The Stroke Foundation is a national charity that partners with the community to prevent, treat and beat stroke.  Standing alongside stroke survivors and their families, health care professional and researchers, the Stroke Foundation builds community awareness and fosters new thinking and innovative treatments.  As the voice of stroke in Australia, the Stroke Foundation support survivors on their journey to live their best possible life after stroke.

The Stroke Foundation also facilitate stroke research and raise funds from the community, corporate sector and government to continue their vital mission.
