The Organisation

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a Victorian Government-owned organisation that actively promotes road safety and supports those who have been injured on our roads to help them get their lives back on track.

The TAC oversees a well-managed and sustainable insurance scheme funded as a part of annual vehicle registrations and has an impressive international reputation. With a sharp focus on four strategic directions – Road Safety & Prevention, Value Based Health Care, Next Generation Claims Model, and Digital & Data Enablement – the TAC is on a journey to build an even better business that is modern, efficient, and continues to be financially sustainable.

The Position

Reporting to the Board and working closely with key stakeholders including the Ministers, Chair and Department, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will bring inspirational leadership to execute the TAC 2025 Strategy, which has a compelling purpose, vision, and mission at its foundation. Empowering a workforce of over 1000 staff and proactively engaging with key partners and community, the CEO will deliver on a corporate performance framework that covers road safety, client service quality and outcomes, people engagement and achieving key financial outcomes.

The successful appointee will be an influential and inclusive leader ideally coming with experience from insurance, claims management, investment management or large-scale customer service. Government business enterprise experience would also be beneficial.

Success in this CEO role requires contemporary people and cultural leadership, advanced strategic and analytical skills, strong financial acumen, superior partnership and engagement capability and a record of delivering business model excellence through lateral thinking, digital nous, and robust execution. Genuine leadership supporting impactful organisational wide diversity and inclusion is expected.
