The Position

An exciting regional leadership opportunity exists for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the North East Catchment Management Authority to shape the future direction of the environmental, social and economic development and protection of its uniquely rich and diverse natural assets.

Leading the overall management of the Authority’s programs, funding arrangements and community engagement, the CEO will play a key regional leadership and influencing role and inspire and empower our talented people across the organisation. Reporting to a ministerial-appointed Board, the CEO is responsible for the development and implementation of the Regional Catchment Strategy, and working closely with government, community and key business and industry sectors to creatively secure investment and support for the protection and productivity of the region’s natural future resources.

As the next CEO, you will be an experienced executive, successful strategic communicator, a natural leader, and proven as a trusted change agent. Adaptive and agile, you will be outcomes-focused and collaborative in approach. Committed to regional life and work, you will ideally bring a strong affinity and experience to the work of natural resource management and environmental sustainability.

Relevant tertiary qualifications are mandatory. The appointee will enjoy living in and connecting with the communities of north east Victoria.

The Organisation

The North East Catchment Management Authority works with the community, government and funding organisations to protect and enhance the land, its water and its biodiversity in the north east of Victoria.

Rich natural assets: snow topped mountains, river valleys, open plains and native forests, contribute to the state’s economic wealth, through key industries of agriculture, forest products, tourism, value-added processing industries and manufacturing.

The head office is located in Wodonga.
