Chief Executive Officer
- Shape and grow community philanthropy in Australia.
- Work with passionate and inspiring people to expand the reach and impact of Community Foundations across Australia.
- Be part of a thriving and vibrant community nationally and globally.
Occupying a key leadership role in the Australian community philanthropy sector in Australia, the Chief Executive Officer will lead Community Foundations Australia and the delivery and execution of an ambitious strategic plan. Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will lead a culture around activating networks and leadership in community philanthropy.
Building on the proud 15-year history and the significant work done creating and growing a stable foundation, the incoming CEO will work with an emerging group of supporters and allies in Australia and grow and leverage those relationships. Strengthening key stakeholder relationships and being informed by and learning from broader networks national and internationally will be a unique aspect of this role.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, vibrant and engaging leader with well-developed communication skills, which include public speaking and advanced network building skills. A track record of working in a peak body and leading advocacy strategy would be well regarded but not essential. Importantly you will offer expertise in building and maintaining strategic partnerships to increase grant funding, resources and capabilities and have a passion for harnessing the potential of the sector at this time.
Relevant qualifications are mandatory.
Community Foundations Australia is the peak body that unites, represents and supports community foundations in a national network to amplify their collective voice and impact. Established in 2007 by and for community foundation practitioners, Community Foundations Australia is a member-based, not-for-profit organisation and registered charity. The members are community-owned, place-based charities that use first-hand knowledge of local issues to make their communities healthier, fairer, more inclusive and sustainable.
Community Foundations Australia builds the profile of the members by publishing news and research, offering thought leadership on key issues and engaging with partners and peers. They advocate for policy reform to create a more enabling operating environment for community foundations.
