The Position
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide cultural, strategic and operational leadership across CRANAplus to ensure the achievement of the organisations strategic purpose. Reporting into the Board, the CEO will have a critical role to play in developing and implementing the new strategic and business plans, budgets and funding applications.
The CEO will lead a team of five executives and an overall national team of 40, plus a large volunteer base. Through the CEO’s visionary leadership, the organisation will advocate for, support and educate Australia’s remote and isolated health workforce, to promote the development and delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare.
The new CEO will be an authentic, and inspiring leader who brings a strategic mindset with strong financial and business acumen. A senior executive who has a Nursing, Midwifery or healthcare background, gained in a remote or isolated primary healthcare setting will be highly regarded.
Given the organisations ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes for First Nations peoples, a strong knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting First Nations Australians in the rural and remote health setting, including the impact of the social determinants of health, along with demonstrated experience in working with First Nations People and/or organisations is highly valued.
The Organisation
CRANAplus is a grassroots, not-for-profit, membership-based organisation that was founded in 1983. The organisation provides a wide range of services such as education, mental health support, career support, and professional services for nurses, midwives, and other health professionals to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality primary healthcare for remote and isolated areas of Australia.
This role could be based in Cairns, Adelaide, or Canberra. Other locations may be considered for the right candidate.
