The Position

Occupying a key leadership role in Early Childhood Education and Care in Australia, the Chief Executive Officer will lead Early Learning Association Australia and the delivery and execution of the 2025 Strategy. Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will lead an engaged culture to collaboratively develop solutions with members, governments and partners to ensure excellence in early childhood education and care.

Building on the proud 30-year history and the significant work done creating and growing a stable foundation, the incoming CEO will represent the sector during a ‘once in a generation’ period of change and increased funding.  Strengthening key stakeholder relationships, evaluating policy impacts for the sector, leading advocacy and being informed by and learning from state and national networks will be key aspects of this role.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, vibrant and engaging leader with well-developed communication skills, which include public speaking and advanced network building skills.  A track record of working in a peak body and leading advocacy strategy would be well regarded. Importantly you will offer expertise in developing value for the members and stakeholders and have a passion for the development of the sector at this time.

Relevant qualifications are mandatory.

Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) is the peak body that unites, represents and supports independent kindergartens, early years managers, long day care, integrated services and local governments with advice, training, resources and advocacy to help realise their vision of ‘excellence and equity in Early Childhood Education and Care’.

Established in 1991, ELAA is now a national network working to amplify the collective voice and impact for members, governments and partners.  ELAA is a member-based, not-for-profit organisation and registered charity.

ELAA has grown in its capacity to support the needs of members through advocacy, industrial relations and management advice, professional development programs, training for committees, management resources, plus a range of member benefits and sector specific communications.
