The Position

The Board of WestCASA are seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation and hold responsibility for the leadership, management and co-ordination of the work of the service.  The CEO will work closely with WestCASA’s Board to implement the organisation’s latest Strategic Plan oversee its overall operations and governance requirements.  Importantly it will support and empower the dedicated WestCASA team and continue to foster partnerships and drive enterprise and sector advocacy efforts.

To be considered for this position you will have an understanding of intersectional feminism and be committed to the principles of a feminist service with experience managing community services (direct service and counselling highly desirable) at executive level.  Ideally you will have a successful track record of steering change, and may offer expertise in family violence, violence against women services, broader social services delivery and/or public policy.

Excellent stakeholder management skills and organisational leadership capability from a governance perspective are desired.  Drive and creativity to support and implement research-led program reform are expected, coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.

The Organisation

WestCASA is a community based not-for-profit sexual assault counselling service operating in the Western Metropolitan region of Melbourne for the past 31 years and is renowned for both facilitating the recovery and healing of victim/survivors of sexual assault and working toward the elimination of sexual violence in society.

WestCASA provides counselling, crisis response, advocacy, education and training across five local government areas, and is located in Werribee with outreach to Footscray, Melton, and the Dame Phylllis Frost Centre (DPFC, a women’s prison) at Ravenhall.
