The Position
Dementia Australia is seeking to appoint an outstanding leader as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is an exciting leadership opportunity to steer a trusted national organisation committed to improving the lives of those living with Dementia, their families and carers through provision of services, advocacy and research.
Reporting to the Board, the CEO is accountable to the Board for leadership, strategy, and operational execution of the strategy to progress its vision, mission, and values. The CEO will play a vital role enabling Dementia Australia to create an inclusive future where all people impacted by dementia receive the care and support they choose.
The successful candidate may be a leader from the public health system, For Purpose sector, corporate arena, or scientist with senior executive experience. With relevant tertiary qualifications, you will have previous experience, or an aptitude for navigating enterprise leadership challenges. The appointee will represent Dementia Australia in the public sphere, extending its respected profile and supporting diverse community needs.
As an empathetic, confident, and influential communicator, you will engage with political, donor, medical, health, aged care, media and research communities, representing values consistent with those of Dementia Australia. You will understand the machinations of advocacy and how to achieve national impact. Presenting with executive gravitas, you will balance commerciality with integrity and stakeholder sensitivity and will offer a track-record in leading an organisation’s strategic agenda, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring financial sustainability.
