BioMelbourne Network (BMN) is the peak body for the Victorian healthtech industry, actively fostering and growing an innovative, globally competitive sector. Providing valuable insights on the sector’s potential and identifying strategic initiatives to support and strengthen the local ecosystem, BMN contributes to the development of the sector through advocacy, webinars, events and promotion of the Victorian healthtech industry, both locally and globally.
Reporting to and working closely with an engaged Board, who bring subject matter expertise from their respective fields, the CEO will contribute, drive and deliver the 2024 – 2027 strategic plan, whilst building the profile of BMN and the reputation of the organisation for ‘connecting’ the sector. The CEO will continue to build relationships across the healthtech landscape, fostering links and network engagement between members, collaborators and key decision makers, including state and federal governments and provide high level advice to the Board to support future planning activities. Leading and delivering operational excellence, the CEO will also oversee all financial and governance aspects of the organisation and drive a strong growth agenda to ensure future sustainability of BMN and its ongoing support of the sector.
The incumbent will be a senior executive leader with knowledge and familiarity of Victoria’s healthtech ecosystem. With previous experience creating connections, cultivating networks and building external partnerships, the CEO will have the ability to shape, inspire and mobilise others around a shared vision for the future. The incumbent will bring a strong commercial operational lens, governance and financial acumen to contribute to the growth of BMN. Tertiary qualifications in business, or equivalent experience will be highly regarded, as will previous senior leadership experience in healthtech.
BioMelbourne Network (BMN) is a membership association, representing the Victorian HealthTech Industry which works closely with members and stakeholders on priority issues linked to driving engagement and growth in research, innovation, commercialisation and manufacturing. Members of BMN are diverse in experience and experts in their respective fields, from early-career researchers to company executives and experienced directors and start-ups through to large multinational companies. BMN represents universities, researchers, manufacturers, government departments and the services sector which includes commercialisation, product design/development, intellectual property, investment and legal sectors.
