The successful candidate will possess broad experience in the management of complex, large-scale programs in a relevant field, coupled with an appreciation of the primary care service systems. In addition, the appointee will have a clear understanding of government funding and the not-for-profit sector and will utilise their strong commercial acumen to grow and sustain the Network into the future. A strong understanding of the sector would be advantageous. The capacity to demonstrate a contemporary approach to education and training is highly desirable, but not essential.

The Organisation

Commencing in 2008, the Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN) offers practitioners across Australia the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary programs: 361 mental health practitioner networks and free online professional development webinars and podcasts.

Funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Health and Aged Care, the program represents a fundamental shift in the way mental health professionals work together to improve patient outcomes and workforce sustainability, as well as providing a basis for the establishment of highly effective interdisciplinary support networks and education across the various professional groups working in the mental health sector.
