The National Trust of Australia (VIC) Board is seeking to appoint a CEO who can work partner with the Board to provide inspirational leadership to ensure the organisation achieves its mission. The development and implementation of a new strategic plan directed at the organisation’s relevance in a changing world is critical, as is the focus on the organisation remaining financially robust
Ideally you may offer a demonstrated commitment to heritage and conservation advocacy, coupled with commercial or events experience. You will be capable of managing diverse stakeholder relationships across a wide range of audiences, including, Government at all levels, donors, community leaders, local volunteers, passionate heritage advocates and the Australian Council of National Trusts. Critical to success will be supporting a large number of committed volunteers who manage individual properties, fundraise and advocate on behalf of the organisation and building the Trust’s endowment funds. You will be excited by the opportunity to ensure the National Trust of Australia (VIC) remains relevant to its members and the broader community and will have strong commercial acumen and the ability to build relationships and influence in a complex environment.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced leader with exemplary strategic and people management skills gained in the public or the private sector. The successful candidate will balance the organisation’s valued past with its optimism for the future. Experience in, or exposure to a non-profit or heritage organisation is highly desirable but not essential.
Since 1956 the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) has been actively conserving and protecting the state’s heritage for future generations to enjoy. As an independent non-profit charity organisation, it is the leading operator of house museums and heritage properties in the state. The Trust owns or operates iconic properties including Rippon Lea Estate, Como House and Garden, Old Melbourne Gaol, Waller House, Polly Woodside, alongside regional properties spanning Victoria.
