The Position
The Board of WHV seeks to appoint a highly talented and goal oriented leader. The CEO will build on the organisation’s prominence as a highly influential voice in the Victorian health community championing for every woman in the state to live well – healthy, empowered and equal.
Reporting to the Chair and Board, and working alongside and with a talented and committed team, the CEO will provide strategic leadership to ensure that WHV maintains its position as an effective promoter, trainer, advocate and supporter of women’s health in Victoria.   With the WHV team, the CEO will identify and respond to service gaps and health inequities in innovative ways. Relevant training programs will continue and evolve. Maintaining the WHV’s ethos and values, the CEO will foster strong stakeholder relationships and ensure efficient operational management of the organisation.
The successful candidate will possess CEO or executive-level experience, appropriate qualifications and will be an inspiring, visionary, inclusive and principled leader who demonstrates a commitment to the values and ethos of WHV. Equipped with strong commercial acumen the CEO will have ability to think strategically and pragmatically. The appointee will demonstrate an exceptional track record in advocacy, stakeholder engagement and influence within a health, community or NFP setting. The appointee will have proven experience in government liaison and influencing policy and budget issues.  The appointee will have high level communication skills including being media savvy.  Presenting with outstanding interpersonal skills, the appointee will be supportive and collaborative and offer a leadership style that nurtures, challenges and inspires staff. An understanding of process development and maintenance, as well as working to a strategic plan with reporting to an active board is necessary.
The Organisation
Established 25 years ago, WHV is a state-wide women’s health promotion, advocacy, training and support service organisation.  It is an independent, feminist, not for profit organisation dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of all Victorian women.  WHV collaborates with a broad range of stakeholders, including government, health professionals, policy makers and service providers, and advocates and builds system capacity for a gendered approach to health in order to reduce inequalities and improve health outcomes for all Victorian women.
